It has warmed up in Texas and I can get back to work.

Post by Halberds »

Greetings Members,

Any armouring tools you think I should be getting ready for the spring season?
I bought materials, supplies and expendables from my last sales profit and I'm ready to go.
The weather has warmed up and I'm getting tired of cabin fever.
I finished all my video games and the wife is getting on my nerves.

I would like to get ahead of the rush... as that Christmas crunch had me jumping through some difficult hoops.

I was thinking of doing some small doughnuts with an appropriate dishing hammer.
My test showed the small doughnut will practically do everything the medium will do.
Maybe a smaller anticlastic Y-stake which has very useful applications.

What about a nice planishing stake and lollypop forming stake to go along with the small doughnut... an affordable armouring tool kit.

I appreciate your input and what your anticipated needs may be.
Without your feedback we would never have come this far.
I build tools that work for me, but others may do things differently.
I would like to accommodate your particular needs.

As always... At your service.

Hal

well you done the bacon cooking multi tool ( wonder if it will be left out in the sun and used to cook on? )

maybe you should do something for beer next. :D
a small donut of the right size could be frozen in the freezer first then put on a beer bottle so it sits around the neck, it will cool your beer down
forges, stake plates, tools and lots more

Warmed up? I dropped my "it's too cold to go out to the shop" temperature to 25 this year. :D

Have I ever asked you whether you'd be interested in producing Pexto-style stake bottoms?
Stuff I will trade for: PWM controllers, steel sheet/rod/bar (4130/410/1050/toolsteel), ITC, casting supplies, wood tools, silver, oxpho blue, gun stuff (9luger/357mag/12g/7.62x54R/22LR), hammers, stakes, or pitch me!

When the ice was piled up against my shop door I stayed inside.
I waited until it got 60° F. before I went back to work.
Now you have to remember... I'm an old retired fart with arthritic joints.

This is about the only stake taper I have done.

It was a special request and the socket dimensions were given.

However, I did build this taper holder on request for some Ebay stakes I refinished.

No, I do not forge tools, I cut and weld.
I think we have an expert tool forger on this forum called Ironmonger.
Perhaps he could fill your needs better than I.
