Hinge for 14th C Clap visor

Post by Oliver the Faithful »

Howdy all,

Does anyone have a source for an interchangeable visor hinge system for a late 14th century clap visor?

I'm looking to purchase whatever hardware it takes to attach 3 separate visors to 1 helm.

Preferably something similar in design that Armstreet uses. I emailed them and they wont sell their hinges without a helm attached. But they did get back to me promptly!

Thank you,

Ollie

Welcome and well come, Oliver the Faithful.

How far are you willing to go in do-it-yourself? We've got one hinge design that Keegan up there did design work on and others made cogent suggestions. Don't think anybody's built one.

If you want a look at the idea, Search-button "MacKeegan" on this Design & Construction forum. Should take you straight to the relevant posts.
