Or you could do what I did once....cut the entire thing from a single sheet of 1/4....and ask yourself later why you were so thick headed.

Making any such thing by hand-sawing, not bandsawing, was really predicated on how thirty-some years ago, they didn't expect any homemade helmet makers to have any sort of access to welding equipment. Though the rather rare exceptions were around, it was also that most SCAdians were reckoned too impecunious to hire the welding out, or have a guy in a welding truck drop by one Saturday for a bit of cash-only side-jobbing.
