What to do with heavy gauge steel

I found a piece of scrap mild steel on campus the other day. From the looks of it it's 10-12 and between 1-2 sq. feet. It will be a bear to cut, but what ever I turn it into will be very durable.

Any ideas on what to make? I was thinking a shield boss or a buckler, since I don't have a whole lot of tools or skill.

Cut it into strips and use it for splints on leather armor-arms or legs?

Just a thought. Sounds about the right weight.

If it's 12 you can cut it into skull halves.
If it's 10 why not try raising something. Always good to try something even if you have
no idea how to do it. You will always learn "something".

It's very likely that I will have to cut it with a chisel, so the less cutting the better. I just hope I won't have to planish much.

Raising is supposed to make things thicker except for any loss due to scaling during annealing.

10 would be good for some heavy multiple stage dishing using metal forms and hammers though...
