I really like the helm a good close fit the brass brow and nasal are great and the slatted back should help keep me cool during the summer. The helm also has a low dome so I don't have 6" of dead space to get hit in the shape is great I love the cheeks also. It is very well constucted riveted and welded the weelds are a bit rough but I have dremmel will grind, and I'm sure accdntprone's welding will improve as he makes more armour.
Very nice helm and a great shape if he keeps it up he will one day be one of the greats IMHO.
Accdntprone don't worry about the hump in the nasal it works to correct it in you next one put the bar on horizontail bar on the inside of the vertical one.

Wombat could you send me those pictures also.

Lost Scott,
I really rather have bars on a bargrill (or in this case a partal bar grill) OVER lapping the center bar. What Im going to try on generation two of that helm is
1. replace the vertical bar (1/4" round stock) with a piece of 1/2" by 1/8th" flat stock with a slight inward curve, and maybe flatten the crossbar a little. We will see how that turns out.

That sounds like a good idea, I'm padding up the helm right now so I can try it out tommorrow.
