Hello all, what is the difference between 5052 H38 Aluminum and T6 Aluminum? Is one weaker or lighter than the other? Can both be used for making a shield?

There is no aluminum grade as T6.
T6 is a temper designation for heat treatable aluminum. T6 indicates that the alloy has been solution heat treated and artificially aged. The HT (strong)grades series of aluminum are:
2xxx
6xxx
7xxx
The 5052 H38 is a non heat treatable (common)alloy.
The H38 temper indicates the alloy has been strain-hardened and stabilized.
But to answer your question, yes both could be used to make a shield.

HA, ok. I understood about none of that, but it's fine - both can be used to make a shield, so I'm happy. I am going to try to get a shield from Master Jamie Blackrose and he uses the 5052 H38 stuff. But everybody here seems to like his stuff, so I will take your words for it and buy one. I will try to take some pics when I get it.
