A haubergon (
http://www.concentric.net/~vistar/haubergeon.html ) is usually defined as a shortsleeved maille shirt, which reaches to mid-thigh. A hauberk (
http://www.concentric.net/~vistar/classichauberk.html ) is more often fitted with full sleeves (possible an integral coif and mittens as well) and reaches to the knees. The definition differs from person to person, but the defining factor is usually the length of the shirt.
Hope this helps!
Cal.

The word haubergeon actually means "hauberk-gown." Most modern authorities state that it was an abbreviated form of hauberk, usually lacking mittens and hood.

Also, the haubergion is later-priod than the hauberk and tapered to fit *under* plate armour of the day... It hugs the body tightly and makes a wasped-waist shape. Some of the weight, as a result, rides on the hips.

Vladimir,
Remember your SAT test?
Hauberk : Haubergeon = Vladimir : Volodenka
Other than this -- I don't believe any of the definitions were consistant or constant enough to make any never-mind.
