Aha I now see the alterior motive for your post on my starter kit thread.
Anyway here's one way to do it.
I'll assume you're just puttin on the cops and that's it.
First you'll want to put a strap made from a softish leather that goes around the back of the knee. You want to attach these straps so that the attachment rivit is basically at the middle of the knee if you're looking from the side.
Now rivit some little leather tabs to the top and bottom of the cops. Put two holes in that little leather tab and then use that to lace the cop directly onto your pants. This'll keep it from sliding up and down.
Since you asked about padding in your post on my thread. I personally like voleyball knee pads. Just get em a size smaller for your elbows. Wear these UNDERNEATH your pants and shirt. Nobody will know they're there. And you can wash em. Some people like the hardball type elbow pads better. etc. etc. it'll be up to you which type you want to use. Just take a trip to wallmart and start tryin them on to see which you like best. Don't get rollerblade pads or anything elce with a hard shell though. You've already made your hard shell. You just want the soft part.
Hope that helps. Lemme know if you've got more questions or need clarification on any of that. And if you need to know how to peen a rivit then go read the faq.

Cool, glad my patterns worked out for you. BTW, they are also found here in the A.A. pattern section.
I connect them with "Y" shaped straps, that way each strap has two points of attachment to each side of the cop to keep them from moving around. Make sure you attach the straps deep in the cop so when you strap them on they wrap around your limb.
