Were spring pins around in the mid 14th century.

subject says it all really.
I'm building myself new arms, based off the brass of sir miles stapleton.
the brass shows what i believe to be straps on the rebrace, but shows no straps or anything on the vambrace.
i was thinking if using spring pins stick to the look, but i'm not sure if they are apropriate.
i cant find the specific date for it right now, but i think it's around 1350 or 60
