What should be the proportion of the helm? Let me break it down....
The top domed plate attacks to the two top pieces of the helm in proportion to the bottom two pieces....
I will try to post pics of what I mean later if I am not making sense....

The Pembridge and Black Prince helms have a general similarity of line but they're actually constructed quite a bit differently. The upper part of the Pembridge helm is constructed in two pieces: the plate that meets the bottom plate to form the occularia and the small cap plate. The upper portion of the Black Prince helm is one piece from the peak to the join with the lower two plates. I don't have measurements for the Black Prince helm but I have measurements for the Royal Armouries Great helm which is very similar to the Pembridge. If you want a copy e-mail me and I'll send it to you.

I'm not at home, so I can't show the pic, but one thing that surprised me is that the back plate of the BP helm comes to a point, similar to the front, but not as gradual. This was only apparent because it is a view that shows a little of the inside of the helmet. The usual side view makes it appear to have a rounded back just like 'all other' greathelms.
I'd love a copy of the measurements too. Pretty please?

Just to make sure I did explain myself, I was not looking at construction methods between the two, but the proportions of each. I want to know the distance from the eyeslot to the top of the helm and from the eyeslot to the bottom point of the helm. What the proportion is...Such as 60% below the eyeslot and 40% above.... or 65% / 35%, etc....or is it 50% / 50%...
Make more sense?
Thanks
