as i re-read the post, i realise i failed to mention that it's a harness i'd like to make paterns for, and eventually build. that is the reason it's here and not on research and authenticity.

noiw c'mon, please. every time i try to find stuff i get things like the nuremburg tourist asosiation, or family trees, and things like that, i cant fin anything on armour from the area and timeframe. any advice?

The drawing of the helm sort of looks like it is one of the rare transitional pieces between "gothic" and "maximillian". Hard to tell from a drawing though.

Ivar here,

I can't help you with information on that particular suit but for a place to make enquiries about Nuremberg armourers you might want to contact the Germanisches National Museum located in Nuremberg. They have a decent website with an English version at:

http://www.gnm.de/

They have a couple of pictures of some of their armour pieces on-line. One is a complete harness made in Landshut by the Master with the star mark, 1470/80. Also online is a very nice great helm circa 1350 from Nuremberg and the Tanneburg handgun from 1399.

If you contanct the curator of the armour collection, he might be able to provide you further information.
