[topic change] Help with Dura Europas lamellar pattern

Post by Tom Knighton »

I was wondering if anyone had the plate pattern for the rawhide Dura Europas lamellar. I'm thinking about constructing one of these, but I can't find a picture anywhere as of yet, and I was wanting to do a couple of experiments with the pattern before any books can get here.

Thanks for any and all assistance!

Ok, I FINALLY found something with a patter for the Das Europa plate. Here: http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/cariadoc/perfect_armor.html it has the plate but while the top has a large hole, there doesn't seem to be one on the bottom of the plate, where typically there would be two. Is this an oversite? Or is this how the plate seems to have been built?

Also, anyone have the lacing pattern for this thing?
