Hello, sorry for taking so long to respond, but it's been a busy weekend.

As my associate Greyholt has already explained, that Corrazina style breast/ back was constructed from modest materials (barrel-plastic) as loaner armor that I could make within my condominium. It was cheap and easy to make, with a minimum of hammering on the heads of my downstairs neighbors.
I could, however, use the same patterns in
any material to recreate the same feel.
Essentially, it is a 7-piece breastplate (made this way because plastic IMHO does not form the proper shape (dishing) that metal could in fewer pieces. And If I was going to make this thing, I was at least going to make it look acceptable.) hard riveted with a fully articulated fauld. The back articulates in two pieces, and also has a fully articulated fauld.
I did not make it front closing (side instead) as is the norm, as I decided I wanted more rigidity across the sternum. However, in retrospect, I think I could have easily made it front closing with the same rigidity by adding a 'splice' piece down the center. (if that makes any sense.)
The articulations on the fauld are done with a combination of articulating rivets and leathers.(nylon webbing actually) And it works great!
I made the whole piece and then covered the entire thing (by contact-cementing it down, then riveting along the edges every 3/4in.) in a burgundy upholstery material that looked somewhat regal and like it would last through years of abuse. After that, I contact-cemented a natural colored canvas into the interior and sewed it up, all along the edges. (so that no-one would know of it's sisnister secret)
It has been in use for quite some time now and has shown very little (if any) signs of wear.
If you would like more detail, let me know and I'll snap a few pics to highlight what I've mentioned.
Big Brew over and out!!!
