I'm not very good at this, but I was looking around at iron ore, and I found a atatement of "The price of fine ore will increase by 18.62 per cent to US cents 35.99 per dry metric ton unit" from http://www.hamersleyiron.com/pubs_desc.asp?libraryID=207

Does this mean a load of iron ore with 60% iron content would cost less that $22 per ton? If so, where can I get about 500 pounds? :)

Seriously, if anyone else has a supplier (or supply!) of iron ore and wants about $10 for a considerable profit for some ore, I'd be interested in getting some.

Mike we bought 100 mesh magnitite from a pollution control supply corp---the shipping was more expensive than the ore. IIRC it was somewhere in Indiana.

Made for a beautiful bloom, 60% is pretty low for an early style smelting where a lot of it goes into the slag.
