I saw that you have a delrin peg with your advanced newbie kit. Have you got any feed back or have any advice on how fast the face deforms or how much work it takes to tune it back up? I was looking to mabey make a mallat out of a chunk but have never used the stuff. do you think you could make a dishing hammer out of it?

It sands down well if you do not burn it on the sander grinder.
It lathes very nice. It would make a fine hammer, the plastic is quite shock resistant and hard.

McMaster Carr Supply Co. has it in all sizes.

Best of luck.

Thanks man! I picked up a rod 3' diam x 11' long on ebay. there seems to be a lot of end pieces in various sizes and diamiters that are shop left overs.
