I probably been reading the Armour Archive the last 4 years by now, and I finally done a somewhat serious attempt at armouring... Here's a pair of Spaulders based on Sinrics pattern I'm working on:

I've borowed Brian Prices decorated bolt head idea too.
I'll post more when I'm finished.

Those bolt heads came out great. How exactly did you do them? What kind of bolt did you start with?

Very nice! I really like how you did the creases and bolts.

Very nice, are they finished or will you sand and polish more? Cool carriage bolts work too.
Thanks for the pics.

Yes, there are a couple of tedious hours of sanding and polishing left on them before they are ready...
The bolt are carriege bolts which I made groves in with a hacksaw. The grooves where then filed a bit and finely I removed any filemarks with a high rpm wirewheel.
For the small ones it takes about 5-10 minutes each.
I haven't tried to rivet these yet, hopefully the shafts aren't to hard...
