Jak or jack of plaite construction.

I am looking to make a jak or jack of plaite like the border reivers of the 16th and 17th century wore. The only pick I have is of the outside of one, anyone have a pic of the plate construction?

the inside plates were often circles or triangles, thats as much as i know
