Figured out how to make my Indian made mail ride better

As many of you know, most of the riveted mail made in India has some pretty sad neck holes. Not biased frontwoards as they should be, and way to large. Lacking the ability to make the rings matching to fill in the parts that should be, I tried running a rawhide lace through the top row of links all the way around the neck and cinching it to where I want it (basicly a drawstring) It seems to be working well. The weight of the mail used to sit far out on my shoulders which was very uncomfortable and fatiguing. The wieght now seems to be pulling straight down on my shoulders closer to the neck and more distribited across the whole breadth of the shoulders, as it should be, and pulling straight down instead of to the sides and down. It is a little snug at the throat, but when my gorget is eventualy done, the chest and back portion of that will be under the mail and will solve that problem. Plus, it doesn`t look as bad as I thought it would. Figured some folks with similar dificultys would like to know

That’s the same method I use with all of the maille shirts I’ve made or bought.
