Just had a new supplier recommended to me for balls of various sizes. Haven't ordered from them yet myself, so I don't know the quality, but the prices and selection look very good.

I had an idea with their hemispheres:
Get a crap load of lead- you can get it for free from tire places, since they can't reuse their lead weights. Melt it, and float a few of these hemispheres in it until it cools. Would this be the cheapest swedge block ever, or would it dent too badly?
I'm looking for a few half spheres for putting creases in knees. Does anyone think these 11 gauge guys will hold up to the job?
Any way you cut it, you can't go too far wrong with their prices. They've got a lot of other ornamental stuff that might be good for making various tools out of.

Clermont--
Hald balls are great for doing this. Valerius and I cut them with a fiber chop saw. It took forever but the cuts were really clean. Perhaps a machine shop would cut them for you. I'm not sure the lead filled ones would hold up to the work oyu are doing.

Look at the fancy besagews they sell on this page!
And, some of the brass doodads might make nice pommels or quillons.
