Steel Shields?

Is there any perscedent for solid steel shields in the late 15th century? (Bucklers included.)

I don't know what else the bucklers portrayed in Talhoffer could be. I suppose they could be cuirbolli, but I see no reason to assume that.
All evidence I've seen about shields (exclusive of heaters), however, suggests they were of wood until *some* late-period jousting shields. I don't know when they come in, however.
