Custom order w/ Chinese embossed designs

Post by Uilleag »

Here is another project that I finished a while ago, but finally got around to getting the pics posted.

It is a cuirass, bauzubands, demi gaunts and a gorget. All of the pieces have been embossed with chinese designs provided by the client.

Cool. It looks really, really nice.

Do you generally have good luck with that sealant? I always worry about sealed leather either becoming brittle or the sealant coming off (as you can tell, I've not had much experience with tanned leather working...)

Looks like awesome stuff, Dan! The design is really neat! You should request that the customer come onto the forums when his kit is completed and post it (if he's not already a member) so we call all see the Chinese kit!

I generally have good luck with it. It is an acryllic, so it will bend and flex with minimal chipping. It shouldn't become brittle at all, but it my peel after some use. However, it is easy enough to re-coat it with a sponge brush.
