What shape should the brim on a kettle helm be? Overall round or oval with the shape of a head?

Overall, it looks like the brim should be the same width all the way around the head. If your cap is round, or oval (probably more common), it should follow that. Some later period ones seem to dip down on the sides of the head, but I don't know if that is just a regional variation.
