Welder recomendations?

A while back there was a discussion about gas welders, someone mentioned a particluar gas welder whose tip/mixer looked like a pistol. The company advertised that one could weld from ridiculously thing up to pretty thick with this one particular unit. I seem to recall the guy who mentioned the tool saying he had welded beer cans with it.
Does anyone remember this conversation or can anyone shed any more light.

I have one. They're marketed under a couple different names but in the Henrob is most common. Eastwood company sells them and Ron picked one up on Ebay for a good price.

They're very efficient gas wise compared to a standard O/A set up and can weld a wide range of thicknesses at the same gas pressure just by swapping out tips. I primarily use mine with the largest tip for hot work since I've got a TIG but they weld very nicely once you get the hang of them.

Cool thanks Cet that kicked the brain cell in question back into gear.

T- do you have a welding set-up of any sort currently? I'm hoping to get my Brian Price hinge welded to my helmet grill (currently riveted).

I have an arc welder, with which I can make brutally ugly welds that require a huge amount of cleanup. I could probably get some time on my uncles mig down the road if you want to tack the hinge plate to the grill the way I did mine. If you wait until summer I hope to get on of these rigs and the tanks set up. I expect you want it sooner than that though.

The plan is that I will be completely off the radar by summer, but more on that later. I'll show you the grill at Birka and we can discuss.
