Ok.. Honest opinion...
The helms don't look good but they are serviceable and they work. I bought one to get me on the field until I could get a decent one. Even by Ashcraft's own words. Don't get the removable grills. He even says he only makes them because people want them and alot of times they come back a year later asking him to weld them in place.
Guants.. Don't trust them.. Articulation is not the best. I haven't seen it happen but I have heard stories about his gauntlets exploding on a good hit.
A friend of mine has one of his sword baskets. He likes it. However ashcraft has a tendency to leave alot of weld slag on his pieces. Be carefull.. Wear thick gloves..

His helms are ok,the sheild and sword baskets hold up(been using a pair for 2 years)the knee and elbows are bearly serviceable.I have 2 fighters using them but I had to put em in a vice to get them to articulate right.I have a pair of the gauntlets they've held up so far and I've takin some good hits but once again the articulation isnt that good. All in all for the price its much better then plastic

Im currently fighting in a complete set of Ashcroft Baker plate, and im more or less satisified with it. A lot of the suit showed up being slightly larger then the measurments i gave them, so i've had to add some padding to several pieces and im going to need to modify a few others. I'll go down the line piece by piece so you get an idea of what pieces seem good and which ones to avoid.
Helm-I've got their sugarloaf helm, and it works fine. It did come a little big, but some extra padding took care of that.
Gorget-Works ok, though once again it's a little big. Also, if you have a long neck like i do your going to want to add a leather cuff or something to it, becuase it doesnt extend all that high.
Full plate arms. Im still trying to get these modified so that i can wear them properly. Once again, everything was a little too big, and even with thick padding i cant get the rearbraces pointed in such a way that they stay tight on my arms and dont pull out from under the spaulders. I haven't decided if im just going to remove the rearbraces alltogether, or if im going to try and cut them down and a dd a few extra straps to pull them tighter.
Plate legs w/wrap plate-These have worked just fine, though i think that the upper thigh plate is a few inches too short.
Segemented breast and backplate-Has worked out just fine. My only complaint is that the center piece of the backplate has a tendency to stick out a bit and it looks sort of wierd.
Fully articulated gauntlets-I love them, and the articulation is great. That said, once again they were a bit too big, and my index finger ends up riding right along the rivets at the top of edge of the guantlets. I've taken a few shots that ended up driving the end of the rivets down into my finger. Im planning to restrap them and rivet a glove lower in the gauntlet to fix the problem.
Spaulders- These have worked fine, though i had to drill a couple more holes in the top lame to get them to point properly.
The armor really isn't bad, and it definately looks better then plastic, but be sure to make sure you talk to them about your measurements and confirm everything is accurate. I don't think they entirely believed my measurements since im tall and really thin, and i think they "adjusted" the sizing to fit someone with a more average build.

Kelly does well, for the price, and you get what you pay for.
As I understand it,he's an in stock guy who cranks stuff out just as fast and cheap as he can.
So I see it as understandable if his work isn't just so,it's made to get people out on the field.
People will put up with a lot from the stand point of quality, and being able to have it NOW.
Caveat Emptor guys,think twice,buy ONCE
Respects,Sven

Greetings,
Basket hilts and shield hilts work alright, they are both relativly large so you can even fit a full gauntlet into them. Slag, yes, wear gloves, for $10 ya can't realy complain. For $90, you can get a pair of SS from Waldryk's that are decent. Good articulation but are not a full cuff < 1/2 cuff > but they work good. Shield baskets, like many others do cover most of the hand, you may want to add a small addition to it to cover the thumb. Wear gloves with both the backets though.
