Hi i'm trying to get into plate armour and figured i would start with lemaller (is this a wise idea?) and was wondering how useful one of those punches is and how good of a job they do and last but not least how much are they and where can i get htem (in canada)?

Well they're incredibly usefull if you're punching the holes in the plates. I'd suggest going for one of the no-name brand ones. You can get one from Princess auto for around $24 CDN. Not sure how close there is one to you though. You might have to go to the one in Missisauga or go mail order through their website www.princessauto.com.
