Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. -Aristotle

I have one of the 18g flat-ring rivetted shirts from Von Sussen and I paid 300 bucks for mine. Sir Camric Greenshield (posts here) ordered 10 of them, so it came right at 300 (including shipping), so not bad really. It is a very well made shirt.
Mine sits in a closet at the moment until I get someone to resize it for me. It seems VS's standard maille size is not made to fit the 5'7" 165lb fighter.
Really can't beat it for the price though. Looks good Duncan!

What did it set you back?
they don't take first borns or I'd have one!!!!
A little over $400.00 with shipping. Not only is that a good deal better than most prices I've seen but this is the only shirt I have found large enough to fit me and I'm big but not exactly top end size for an SCA fighter. This is not flat rivited but I have seen a few period examples that seem to be more dome rivited. If you want more authenticity I suggest you go for flat rivited, which is more expensive, but I felt this was close enough especially since I am going to be fighting in it.
It's advertised as a 65 inch chest max extension but I've got about a 56 inch chest and I wouldn't recomend it for anyone much larger than me. It fits fine and is big without some kind of ankenton but I would say any smaller and I would be haveing problems. The auction mentioned that you would need 10 or so inches of play to fight in it and I would say that is correct.
I was very pleased it came down to just above my knees which is a great length for the first three quarters of the 14th century.
