ARGHH! My Dufty Book Is not Coming!

European Armour in The Tower of London was confirmed as ordered through www.alibris.com for only $98.44. But the bookseller they took the order for already sold it to someone else. I've only been trying to get this book for about 6 years at a reasonable price. Damn it. On the plus side, now I have the money to try to win Gaston's auction book.

I was hoping to have the Dufty here to use for some armour research I'm doing. The really annoying thing is I passed up another copy, for $200.00, because alibris had a better price and a first edition to boot. Now the other copy is also sold. Grrrrrrr.

Oh well, found a copy in less good condition, but it is cheaper. Though it has to ship from London, England.

Better than not getting it!

Dufty's European Armour in the Tower is a great book, and well worth the price. I think I paid around the $100 for it also, and never regretted it.

Coincidentally, it's sitting open on my kitchen table at the moment; I was using it to reference a german elbow cop...

Richard... that is rough. I can't count the times I have "ordered" a book from an Euopean dealer only to find out that their inventory was not kept up to date on a regular basis.

Get your hopes up and then ahve them squashed. Good luck next time. It is truly an excellent book.
