Rivets for gauntlets

Hey guys,

What size rivets are reccomended for gauntlets/half gauntlets? Where do I get them.

Many people like to use roofing nails for this. They are like small flat-head rivets once you clip the nail point off. Any shaft diameter between 3/16" and 1/8" will do well (5mm and 3mm+, if you are buying metric).

You could use the ones Zanetto is selling...

They are much nicer than roofing nails. In fact, much nicer than almost anything you can get off the shelf. 1/8" shank and a large head. Much more like real ones.

They also flatten out real nice with a hammer if you want to make authentic roofing nails for attaching leather to plates.

If you use roofing nails, I really reccomend inspecting each one before using it, sometime they have mold "flash" under the head that can cut yout leather. a few seconds with a file fixes that.
