Looking for helm pics

Post by Kilian »

Before Eagles Talon Armouries closed down, they made a sallet in stainless with a punched visor and bevor. I really liked this helm and had pictures of it saved on my computer. Said pics have now disappeared. If anyone has pics of this helm, could you please either post them or e-mail them to me? My e-mail is in my profile. Also, if anyone has an e-mail address where I can reach the proprietor of Eagles Talon, I would greatly appreciate that as well.

Thanks in advance,
Kilian

generally weekends are a bad time to get timely responses - monday through thursday the archive gets pretty active - I think it's due to events and such, and many folks read/post from work Image

Sorry don't have a picture of that helm ( it sure was a nice one ) but then all of his work was great,As far as I know Eagles Talon is no longer making armour or taking orders.
And even when he was he had no e-mail, you had to ether write or phone him.

That is SWEET!! That is just a work of art! It really is a shame he quit the business. Unfortunately he quit just before I would have been able to order from him. Would anyone happen to know any way to contact him so that I can see if he's got pics/patterns that could be used for someone else to make the helm I want since he's out of the business?

Morgan,

Do you happen to know how I might contact him (and can you give me his name)?

Thanks,
Kilian.

Killian, I bought a helm (bascinet w/klappvisier) from ETA before he went out of the armouring business. I'm at work right now, but drop me an email (to jog my brain) and when I get home (and get the email) I'll try to find his name/phone# for you. I might still have some old correspondence or a receipt or something sitting around.

If it helps at all, I believe his SCA name was Aquila and his mundane given name is Brian. And he lives in western Colorado. That's all I can remember right now. How many Brian's can there be in western CO? Image

Sasuke-

Is that you're sallet? If so do you have any documentation on it? My lady wants something like that and she says she saw it in an illumination somewhere but can't remember what book it was in. I am going to commission one for her, but I need documentation.

Nope. I wish it was though. It belongs to a guy in Tx who had me put a suspension liner in it. That is about all I know.
I just found some more pictures of the sallet you may be interested in. I tried to get angles you don't normally get to see. You will also see how the pattern works if you look for it. Kind of shocked me how he did the skull. Hadn't seen it done that way before.

I don't KNOW but I suspect Brian may have studied with Scott at Illusion. I know Scott does a Barbute with darts in the skull like that Sallet.

Albrekt,

Sorry for the delay in messaging you, I haven't been on the archive for a couple of days. Anyway, e-mail has been sent and I hope to hear back from you.

Sasuke,

If you're also looking for contact info for ETA, I will gladly send you the info as soon as I get it from Albrekt. I thought about posting it to this thread, but realized that he may not want his info posted on the 'net now that he is no longer in the armouring business.

If anyone else knows anything about the sallet I'm looking for, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks,
Kilian.
