regarding individual fingers for sca

I'm working on a pair of gauntlets for sca combat. Years ago I did sca and wore fingered gauntlets that provided me great protection, but rules changed and they failed my gauntlets one event and I just never went back.

My new pair is of the same style, and I have everything done(except sanding) but the actual fingers. Since I cannot find a current copy of the ansteoran rules and regulations, have the rules changed any for allowing fingered gauntlets? If not, is there any chance that after I finish them, I can prove the safety of the gauntlets through a marshal's ok?

If its any help, the gauntlets are of the millanese style, with the demi plate that covers the base of the fingers on the left hand, and about an inch from the tips on the right hand, so there is some plate protection. I plan on fighting halberd and love the grip I have with fingered gauntlets.

You'd be best off taking your question right to the Ansteorran Kingdom Earl Marshal. Each Kingdom has some differences and even within a kingdom you can run into conflicting opinions

Cet is right the first person I would be asking is Sir Jean Paul de Sens. He is the current Earl Marshal for the Kingdom. He does frequent this board so he might see your post.

Based on the discussion that I had with him about finger gauntlets, what he likes to see is the proper amount of padding, that the plates cover the top of the fingers and extend to cover the sides a bit if possible. I use Clay Moore's 14th century finger gauntlets and he passed them with the proper padding.

I believe he is currently reviewing the Ansteorran rules to bring them into compliance with the new Society ones. You can keep up to date on the website he post too at http://www.marshal.ansteorra.org/armored/

Could you please provide a link or images of said gauntlets? I have been batting around the idea of trying to find/make some SCA legal finger gaunts (I'm thinking modified wisby style) but I'd still like to see what others are using for the sake of options.
