Funny you should mention that.
I was in England in October and one of the things that I did was take very detailed, very high resolution photos. I have not had a chance to work on them, but I am planning on doing an essay.
I will try to post them as soon as I can.

You should talk to James Gillaspie, he has a bit of insight regarding the leg design on these and can also tell you about differences between the actual effigy and the famous model you see pictures of which is not entirely faithful to the effigy (close but not the same).
Also Mac made a copy of this exact armour in spring steel for my squire (over 10 years ago now I guess) and can probably give you some advice too.

(James Peck - PS. Finally got my daughter's armour that you made a lot of pieces for onto an armour stand and have the computer set up for photos. Should be posting stuff online in December).

Is the SCA a better place for having you in it? If not, what are you doing there?

No. I was stepping on low ledge of the effigy. One of the people from the church tried to find a step ladder for me though.
My camera has an adjustable screen so I can take pictures from almost any angle.

Thanks.
I have finished posting the small versions of the pics I took. I also renamed them and added the model of the armour from the Leeds Armoury and three pictures I have from online of the full effigy front, side, and back.
I did ask if they could lift the effigy up for me to photograph. I was politely refused with a good chuckle. The people at St. Mary's are so nice.

if you want it sending as it will be to small if i re-size it for the forum.i have photos too.
the effigy has been removed twice this century so the joke about looking around the back is not that far removed.
