Spring steel gauge ? for spring release enclosures.
What gauge is normally used for the spring steel strips in helms and arm enclosures? Im wanting to add those to my new arms.
Thanks

Banding strap can be used. I think the one in my helmet is made from the heavier, wider strap than on small pallets.

I usually use old band or hacksaw blades Never miced them but there probalby 22-20ga thickness. You can fine tune spring tension by changing width and length for the same thickness material.

omg I would have never thought of that..lololol
I have all those unruly banding straps in my scrap pile that I bitch about all the time, and now they are useful..hahahaha
Thanks guys, I have a limitless supply out there and it would have never crossed my mind. lol
The stuff I get in is hell to cut even with very large tin snips, so Im sure it will work.

The gauges I have used are 20 and 22 gauge. Both work great.
Most of the banding you find is one of the two of those gauges and works very well for that purpose.
