Next month there'll be an arms and armour auction here. I'm posting this because the catalogue (online as well as a paper one) is really worth a look.
This stuff all comes from some private collection.

Way too many things which raise too much of an eyebrow. Take a look at the "Rare German Rondel Dagger, circa 1480". It's a composition of at least three different century's styles.

Note how nearly everything is "rare"

I like the "rare german field anvil" though!

I'm always surprised that presumed XIV , or earlier century swords have always perfect blades, no chips, no dings, no cracks, it's possibile that real swords never met another blade to stop onto?
It's possible that they dig out almost only new swords never used?

I'm with Ralph on this one, i like the 1620 German Field Anvil. Anyone know if any historical documentation on this setup? Cap'n Alti?

Item 1059, the helmet from 1250 is particularly interesting. A rare find.

I'm glad someone appriciates it.

I was very happy with the photo's of the shields, you don't see good images of late shields very often. As for the rest of it, it's too bad that most of it is very late, but nevertheless I think I'll go and have a good look anyway.

It seems to me that most of the items are not really what they say they are.
Should they be expert to run such business??????
