Greathelm

What is the standard for a Greathelm in the SCA? Does it need to be welded at the joints or are rivits good enough?
Rivets are enough, providing you space them at less than 2.5 inches. Spacing them that far apart just looks goofy. 1-1.5 inches looks much better and will easily pass inspection.
You may want to weld it anyway. Nothing wrong with overkill, it is your HEAD in that bucket and you WILL get hit. Also, sometimes it's easier to have it tack welded here and there to hold it still while you rivet it.
