Today's effort, progress pic

I've got a few things in progress right now, but today's major project was tooling a pair of bazubands with Persian motifs.

Winged lions across the wrist, and lotus flowers at the elbows.
The album at the link also has a pair of bazubands with celtic cats that are still in progress, and a persian pattern laid out on a greave that just got started this evening.

Looking good, thanks for the prog pic.
I like to see a project come together.
It is so neat to watch it grow.
Perhaps you can show some tools as it comes along.

Lookin good!
I always like to see others tooling as I do tooling myself. also have you thought of taking step by step tooling pics? I do that a lot. (and would post but I'm computerley challenged)- yes computerley is a word.
that looks great, can't wait to see the finished result.

Thought of taking step by step pics ? Yeah, but I get rolling and hate to stop just to take pictures
Sunday I got the winged lion bazubands assembled and gave them and the celtic cats both a couple of coats of special walnut stain. Tonight I should be able to harden them and get their final finish applied. More pix at that point.
Got the pattern on the greave fully incised, and the design for outside of the knee selected, transferred and incised. I'll get a pic or two of that tonight before I get started on it again.

Further progress pix added to the site linked in my first post. Also, per Halberd's request, a pic of some of the tools I've been using most lately.
Giving my swivel knife with ceramic blade a little workout, most of my carving over the past year has been done with a one piece knife a friend made for me. I'll have to put up some pictures of the pair of them he made, after our discussion of what a medieval leatherworker might have used for incise work.

I've finished the tooling on one greave, Persian motifs.
Also finished the tooling, forming and hardening on the 2 pair of bazubands, one with celtic cats and one with persian style winged lions and lotus flowers.
