New legs (in progress)

So...
These are my second pair of legs and much better than the first set. All is 16 gauge cold rolled steel but knee cops are 14g.
Still need to make the upper cuisse plates. I tried 16g steel but I couldn't roll the edges properly. The plate just bent too much and then the metal was too hard to reshape. I don't have any heating device so I'll propably use 18g steel or thick leather.
I also have to do the central crease and some hinges.
But here are the pics

They look great so far, Ghost. 15th c., I'm guessing? They only concern I have about them is, and it could be the lighting, hammermarks or just the pic, but it looks like you may have burned the metal on the fans. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more progress shots!

Burned?
I thought he didn't have a heating source.

My main suggestion would be to lightly dish the lames. It greatly helps with the look and articulation, and removes almost all gaping in the knee if done correctly. You've already punched the rivet holes, so that might be impossible now, but on your next pair give it a try. Over all though, great job!

What I mean Ideval, is the fans look as if they have been blistered by heat, but you're right. I misread the thread. I stand corrected.

The upper cuisse plates are now done. I used 18g steel because I had some problems with 16g. Rolls came out quite nicely, I think.
Those side plates are allmost done. Little shaping, not anything special.
I also did the creasing. It's not so sharp but I like it anyway.

HammerHand, I didn't try to copy any style, I just thought this looks cool.
Thak you all for your comments. Next I'm gonna make some hinges and then start with a new project. Maybe greaves or arms. I'll do the sanding and polishing later.
