Corrazina closure question

Hey all,
I've got most of a corrazina shaped and temporarily assembled.
I allowed for enough overlap to fit the right lapel under the left -
but I am now wondering if I should add a "tongue" to the right lapel for the overlap? The metal is only 18g, and I think this reinforce might help, although all edges are rolled.
I have a seven buckle closure in mind, but I was also thinking about internal "clips" at the waist and throat to catch the front right breast and keep it from shifting.
What are your experiences?
Thanks!
