Chemical treatment for aluminum

I have some poished aluminum knees and elbows and want to chemically treat them to dull them to a steel color or grey..any suggestions..

not shure but you can send them out to be annadized or acid etch with fericloride.

If you're researching the chemical, spell it "ferric chloride." A speller Lostie ain't.

Any one ever tried that ferric chloride an alumnum mail?

I think it would work just fine. I am not quite sure how an etchant grays aluminum, but I'd be delighted to find out.
