Corrazina Pics?

Post by Mykaru »

As the search function is temporarily disabled. I hoping for links to the blue and yellow corrazina Jeff Wasson did. I *have* the posed pic, but there were other process pics (rear view, open etc.) out there that no longer seem to be on his site. Anybody have them or the address?

sorry Olaf,
No can do. I found them on Jeff's website. I remembered it because it is so similar to the Blue and white one I made in 1990.

This is what I make and I as I have been led to believe here on the AA pages, is more as to what the Corrizina is type-a-formed.

Here's some pics of a really nice repro corrazina, both the front and the inside. The shell is of leather, and the inside faces of the plates are covered with leather as well, to prevent corrosion.

Hope this helps!

Jeez, I wish it was mine.

Some guy was selling it on MyArmoury, on the second page of the classifieds section. I believe it was made by Stanislav Prozek.

Anyhow, it was such a good example of a corrazina, that I had to save the pictures.

I think it's still for sale.

Edit: Here- http://www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=12563

Regulus and Corey,

Thanks for the try, but both of those are copies of the Bashford Dean Frankenstein at the Met. There are a number of those (some of which are quite nice) floating around.

Iconography shows hooped faulds. I certainly wouldn't want to try sitting on a horse wearing the Dean style corrazinas.

Pretty sure there's a young woman in England trying to sell that very same item since she recently bought it and it doesn't fit her. Certainly Czech Mac made it and its covered with the same blue material.

Those are from a German site IIRC. I already have those. Not bad, but not to the quality of Jeff's work IMO.

Keep 'em coming.

Hi All,

How early do the corrazina's show up?

I've always liked the "red suit" pictured in the Met, and thought that it was a late 14th century composite. Is that the common thought?

Thanks! Alan

You will have to scroll down to see the pics. You may still want to contact him though to see if he's got any pics w/ better detail.

That is the nicest corrizina reproduction I have seen to date - really, it is the only one I would really call a reproduction.

That said, if you make another, the plates need to overlap on the centerline by a little more than they do here - the breastplates are asymmetrical in the examples of fragments I am aware of, allowing for the overlap.

Chef I wish I had made it. Like I said I found it either here or around the net somewhere. It is my inspiration for when I get around to making one though. Thanks for pointing out the lack of overlap in the front. I hadn't noticed it before. When I do get around to making I will make to sure to correct it. I hope I can do as good a job.

There has been some discussion on Corrazina's lately. There are some really good pictures on this particular thread, so I thought I'd "bump" it back into the light.

Another project.....

Happy New Year everyone!

What was the time period in which this armor was in? Just curious.
