I'm getting to the point of being able to put things together on my kastenbrust project, and am hoping for some advice on the arms.
These elbows are what I am trying to emulate, with a couple of tweaks.

The text accompanying it(from the exiles art section) states that "This figure has Gothic type couters rather than articulated couters; these consist of one larger plate that overlaps the rerebrace and vambrace above and below." My question is how would they be attached? You can clearly see a Y strap on the couter and a straight strap on the rebrace of the right arm, but I don't see any arming points hanging off it.
Here is an inside view of my rerebrace and couter:

I was thinking that a leather strap on the inside would keep things together well enough, but now I'm rethinking it.
Should I leave everything separate, and just rely on individual straps to hold everything on, or would the leather articulation strap be a good idea?
pre gothic floating elbows design?

I would use separate strips rather than a large one D.....maybe take an exacto knife and split them up...gives you better torque movement.
