0.0575" SS? SCA?

Post by waveicle »

I was given a gift of some rather large pieces of SS sheet. Very nice! I thought it was 0.0625", calipers are telling me more like 0.058". I was hoping to make SCA knees and a bunch of stuff. I know it's close, but is this material still a good idea for heavy combat?

That falls withing spec for 16ga by all the commonly used gauge systems- it would be fine for anything but a helmet.

It's almost 4x6', I can make my new kit with it.

So, hands off!
