Roloc disc question

Post by Louis de Leon »

You pretty much have to have an air compressor and that dinky right angle grinder to use them, right?

Not necessarily. Harbor freight sells the discs with an adaptor kit to hold them for under I think $10, they have 1/4 shafts so they will fit in your standard drill. I like my air die grinder though...

You can get them for an angle grinder both as seperate disks that go on a backing pad and as stand alone disks.

The ones I use are a different brand and come from canadian tire. Takes 80 grit to 180 very quickly. They cost about $6 but will do 2-3 helmets.

True. However more 'umph' with a drill. I can't press hard enough on the roloc pad to stall my drills out... I can do it with the air angle grinder, so can my 2 oldest girls... and the littlest one might could do it now that she's 6.
It looked better in my head....
Damnit.

You probably allready know... but they do sanding discs on rolocs too. I had a bunch in 60-100 grit.

The one thing that is very handy about the angle air grinder is it's size. It goes places other stuff just won't.

Also... you can put the 3" scotchbriteys on the 2" arbor and get some flexy floppy action going on. Good for bar grills, and betwixt rivets and that sort of stuff.
