My solution to the armour stand, and pics of my kit

Post by Armourkris »

The other night i got an idea for a good way to display my armour, i aint got a proper armours tand, and i havent had the time to make upe un, so instead i made my "armour chair"

so without further adieu......
http://www.angelfire.com/mt/tybolt/pics/armour/mykit/mykit.html

It sure seems to un-nerve people at first, and well, it scared the crap out of me the first night at about 3 in the morning.

but yea, a quick disection of the kit.
i was aiming for a mid 14th century german look. and i used a round instead fo a heater simply cause i'm usless with a shield in general, but i'm more useless with a heater.

starting at the head.

-Greathelm, made by Carlo over at truehearth armouries
-coif/mantle with venttail
-3 lame spaulders
-splinted arms with floating cops, i'd like to get some nice new elbow cops on there with rondels
-Gauntlet with scaled fingers
-Coat of plates, got the plates straps and rivits kit from alchemy
-splinted cuise with dependent soupcan knees
-front greaves
-and finally, old army boots, soon to be covered with sabatons, i hope.

so what do you all think?

do i get a thumbs up?

That is pretty cool. I relally like that helmet, kind of has a beak like a pigface but is a great helm! Wicked looking!

Hmm, what is that that big plastic tube on the right of the picture for?

the armour is proped up with a pvc cross, then the legs are just layed in place, and the arms are pointed to the spaulders witch in turn are pointed to to the cop and suported by the shoulder part of the cross.

and that big tube is a bloody huge waterbong my friend and i are building for the liberation day parade/hemp rally this weekend. :P

isn't that more of an "armor sit" than an armor stand?

Gets athumbs up from me as that is how my kit is ....ummm sitting right now. 'Course with the steel breast and back it tends to help keep it balanced. Well done though, like the pose yours is in.
