Most people really like the look of that one. Unfortunately it's a copy of the Corazzina in the Met, which is partly a fake made from altered bits and pieces from Chalcis. The skirt seems to be the part which has the least historical backing.

It's pictured in great detail on the Metropolitain Museum of Art web site, but I don't have the link.

Actually I beleive that it was suspected to have been altered but I am not sure if was proven.

There is little question that the pieces on the Met suite are from different originals, and that some have been altered to fit where they don't belong. The exact nature of the alterations is questionable. At the Met there is a painting, St Micheal, that is a much better representation of what a Corazina is supposed to look like. Expand the pic by clicking to get more detail.

Mr. Gilman, the maker of the green suite, has reported that it was interpretive and intended to show how a nice looking suite could be made for very little money and without a high degree of skill. Mr. Gilman was intending the suite for SCA combat. Elements from the suite are nice but a more historically correct could be created. If you have the opportunity several unrestored Corazinas breasts and backs are on display at the Met.

Wade Allen made a very nice reproduction on how the breast plate is supposed to be.

a bunch of mail in the way, but you can see enough to tell.

And as well... why is this called a breastplate, rather than a coat of plates?

Master Cad made vacuformed ones in the past, but I don't know if he still does. He probably still has the pattern.
