I am a beginner armorer and I was wondering what sizes of dishes I should make in my dishing stump. I would like width and depth please.

Three to six inches across, two to three inches deep. A straight, V-section notch is also good to hammer into for cylindrical bends like limb armor or the sides of breastplates and backplates. You can try two different dish sizes, one small and one large, and see which one you find more useful.

A length of gas pipe teams well with that V groove. Whack the pipe into the groove with the metal laid across it.

An oval, or football-shaped dish will do things a circular dish can't, as well as the things a circular dish can. You can reorient your metal over the oval dish to control its 3D form.
