another Pistoia question...

I saw somewhere, I think it was from a Combat of the 30 pic, of a person wearing what looked like a Pistoia breastplate (at least in design similarities, solid breastplate, triangular fauld ect.) but he had the breastplate part covered in what looked to be green suede.
Is this documented? Was this common?
or is this of unknown certainty?
Thanks!
MJ

Might it have been a Corrizina? Do you have (or can you find) a pic?

I'm looking for it right now.
It might have actually been in the axes through the ages tourney.
I don't think it was a corrazina, based solely on the addition of the triangular fauld.

That's Dwayne Wilkie (sp) Sir Alexander something or other SCA wise. I'm glad to see he got into the 30 this year.
I keep forgetting to send you yhose back armour sketches we talked about- I'll try to get them out tonite or in the AM

Covered faulds are quite common in 14th century artwork haven't seen a triangular covered one but don't see any reason why not.
Covered breastplates are common too. They don't necessarily have to go together. you could have one or the other or both.

Thanks Cet,
I was wondering who he is.
I'm not in a hurry, and I realize that you have been off at Pennsic and doing other things.
I know we talked about a Corrizina... but I have been thinking about a Pistoia as of late, and think I might be taking that route.
I still would like those back sketches though so we can figure something out.
