Leather Armour Patterns

I am creating a persona of a 15th century crusader whos armoured by a gambeson (mialle isn't that great for SCA combat). For protection under the gambeson, I want to make hardened leather arms and legs with floating cops. Does anyone have simple patterns for arms and legs or suggestions that may help me on my quest?

Patterns that work for metal work for leather too. 15th century? Was that not the Albigensians?
