Hindu arms and armor

Post by Leopold der Wolf »

Does anyone have pictures of weapons or armor worn by Hindus during the darkages to renaissance time period?

I've researched Indian Art but its almost always mythical or religious in nature and I can find very little else.

Thanks for the help all.

-edit- Or if not specifically Hindu then any kinds of Indian arms & armor.

The definitive work on the subject is 'Indian Arms & Armour' by G.N. Pant. Volume II is the one you want. Out of print, but available via ILL. Good luck!

Also check out silk roads

It has a few pieces of armour form India, not sure of the time period (shoulder protection leaps to mind and maybe some others)
