Chef, we're going to be flying up the 4rd week end in august to see the Met, the Philly, and the Higgin's Museum on Sunday, August 24th. Any chance you'll be there?
Thanks,

Hi Jean-Paul,
Did my monthly 'tour of duty' Sat, August 2. - I'm scheduled to do presentations the first Saturday of every month. I might possibly be there, but not doing presentations. I will try to be there for your visit.
If you have been there before, you will find the displays have been changed quite a bit, with a new series of display cases, spotlighting some items that have not been able to be displayed previously. Check out "The Age of Armour" exhibit on the second floor, as there is a case of 15th century harness (dissacociated pieces) that is normally in the reserve collection. It is going on tour at the end of this month. The famous conch shell kabuto is currently on loan to the Worecester Art Museum, and on exhibit there.

Yes, there's also a pig faced Bascinet and a 14th century knee, a hussar breast and back plate, some maximillian, and a variety of other things in the exhibit. Last I was there, at the beginning of the exhibit, there was also a large selection of roman and greek armor (non-photographable) on the 4th floor gallery. The only other thing you can't photograph is the native american headdress. There may be other things, you can find out simply by asking at the front desk when you enter. With the lighting conditions there, I find a video camera a more effective way of photographing. The "Age of Armor" exhibit will be going down your way later on and maybe you will be able to get pics of the stuff that isn't out yet. I can't find the dates right now, I'll try to look them up in the next few days.
