Lorica Manica
Does anyone have a pattern for a manica that they'd be willing to share?

Yup, Larp.com is still down, very frustrating! Here's another helpful site,
http://www.romanarmy.net/manica.htm
For a pattern, all I did was draw a long trapezoid, the widths at top and bottom matching the "wrap" that you want for upper arm and wrist, in other words the width that will go as far around as you want it to go. (Most folks make their manica wrap halfway around the arm, but some may have covered more than that.)
The length has to be more than the length of your arm, to allow for the overlap of the plates. Most of the lames will be about 1-1/8" wide, but some of that will be overlapped by the next plate down, so for each plate figure 7/8" to 1" of finished length.
That get you started? It's not really a difficult piece to make, but there is a lot of filing on those rotten little plates! Getting the fasteners in the right place can take some fiddling, too, to be sure it moves as freely as possible.
Good luck and Vale,
Matthew
